(WEHT)- Drastic changes could be coming to Kentucky’s government and election system if several bills become law.

One of those changes would be, a Senate bill would move the race for Governor and other statewide offices to the same year as Presidential elections.

Another bill would abolish the office Lieutenant Governor and instead establish the President Pro- team of the Senate as the Governor’s successor. Two other bills are aimed to make it easier to vote.

One would allow for early voting while another would allow for vote centers to replace traditional polling locations.
