Carl Pfeiffer

Lawrenceville - Carl Edward Pfeiffer of Lawrenceville, IL passed on Sunday July 18, 2021. Carl was born and raised in Wabash County, IL. He was the first born son of William J. and Ida M. (Herschelman) Pfeiffer of Browns, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture.

He was an Eagle Scout, a Lions Club member, a Kiwanis Club member, an American Legion member, a Master Mason in Masonic Blue Lodge of Albion, Illinois, a 33 degree Mason of Taylorville, Illinois, a member of Sigma Epsilon Phi (an honorary Agricultural Extension organization), a Noble of the Mystic Shine-Ansar of Springfield, Illinois, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville, Illinois.

Carl married M. Eloise Cummins on October 25, 1959 in Springfield, Illinois. He greatly loved and supported his family. He worked for years in Agricultural Extension and then as an Agricultural Sales Manager, selling agricultural goods. He retired in 1990 and enjoyed his retirement.

His beloved wife Eloise passed away July 20, 2009. He is survived by his three children: Doug Pfeiffer with wife Debbie of Adel, Iowa, Diane Hofferbert with husband Dave of Niles, Michigan, and Dru Pfeiffer with wife Melody of Louisville, Kentucky: six grandchildren: along with 7 great-grandchildren. He had a brother and a sister both of whom preceded him in death.

Carl's funeral service will be Saturday, July 24, at 10 a.m. at Cunningham-Young Funeral Home, 1522 State St. Lawrenceville, IL, with burial in Lawrenceville Cemetery to follow. A Visitation was held Friday July 23, 6 - 8 p.m.
