HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Smoke from the raging wildfires in Northwest North America continue to cause health problems in the region.

Air quality health advisories are in place for the whole Hudson Valley. Furthest south, Rockland and Westchester counties received an "unhealthy" label, as the fine particles in the atmosphere are unhealthy for sensitive groups of people. Children, older people, and anyone with heart or lung disease may experience effects and should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion.

In the mid and upper Hudson Valley, the pollution level is "moderate" which means people who are highly sensitive to air pollution should consider reducing prolonged or heavy exertion.
