KENNER, La. — Early Thursday morning, officers with the NOPD engaged a suspect in a vehicle chase.

The NOPD received a call around 5:30 a.m. stating that an armed carjacking took place in Gentilly.

Initial reports show a male suspect stole the victim’s vehicle at knife point, and fled the scene, located in the 12300 block of South I-10 Service Road. 

A few minutes later, NOPD Seventh District officers located a vehicle in the 7800 block of Chef Menteur Highway matching the description of the vehicle taken in the carjacking incident.

The vehicle fled from police, at which time NOPD and the suspect engaged in a multi-parish vehicle pursuit.

The pursuit covered parts of I-10 and I-610, moving through New Orleans onto the interstate and west into neighboring Jefferson Parish.

The chase ended just before 6:00 a.m. in the 3700 block of Williams Boulevard in Kenner, where the suspect crashed into another vehicle.

JPSO apprehended the suspect, identified as 49-year-old Isadore Foreman, at the scene.

Foreman will be booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for armed carjacking and flight from an officer, and also faces charges in Jefferson Parish regarding this incident.
