Brad Paisley will headline the WYCD Hoedown on July 31 at DTE.

The pandemic's been hard on all of us, but think of the animals.

With the Detroit Zoo closing last spring, then reopening to limited capacity, revenue has taken a hit, making it hard to feed and maintain the animals under their care.

And in comes Brad Paisley.

A virtual benefit concert will help zoos nationwide keep pandas and lions and monkeys — you get the picture — well-fed and comfortable in clean habitats, including our furry friends at the Detroit Zoo.

The "All Together for Animals" one-time livestream concert will include performances by Brad Paisley, Ashley McBryde, Riley Green and other country music stars.

A portion of ticket sales, 50% to be exact, will go directly to the Detroit Zoological Society. Any contributions made beyond the $30 ticket price also directly benefits our local critters and creatures.

The concert will take place  live from the Nashville Zoo and the Steel Mill Studios in Nashville, Tennessee,  at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Tickets can be purchased online
