West Clermont Middle School goes back to remote learning due to staffing quarantines
A Clermont County middle school is back to remote learning as district officials blame an increasing number of staffing absences due to COVID-19 quarantines. West Clermont Middle School student will attend school online Friday and Monday (Sept. 10 and 13), school officials said, and will not go to the physical school building. Officials with West Clermont Schools said a growing number of staff members are ill or must quarantine due to COVID-19 protocols. "Because of this issue, as of today, we cannot keep the West Clermont Middle School building open right now for in-person learning. We do not have the staff to support students inside the building," a statement from the district reads. On these two days, all middle school students will use their district-provided Chromebooks to access their school materials.In-person learning will resume on Sept. 14.The closure affects only West Clermont Middle School, district officials clarified.All other West Clermont students in grades preschool through fifth grade and ninth grade through 12th grade will attend school in person as usual on these two days.For more information on the district's quarantine and COVID-19 policy, click here.
