Authorities in Washington County are advising caution after two reported incidents of a driver pulling alongside middle school girls and asking if they needed rides.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says on Sept. 5 a male driving a white van near Southwest Butner Road and Spring Lane pulled next to a middle school girl and asked if she needed a ride to school. She told him no and continued walking but reported seeing the van several more times before arriving at school. She reported the incident.

On Sept. 14, Beaverton Police say male driving a red Ford pickup driving near Cedar Hills Boulevard and Southwest Park Way yelled at a middle school girl and told her to get in his vehicle. The student refused and reported the incident to her parents and school authorities.

Neither agency has identified suspects yet but are conducting enhanced patrols. Residents are asked to report suspicious vehicles to Washington County Dispatch at 503-629-0111. Officials are also providing information about safety and "stranger danger."
