WACO, Texas – Baylor men's golf opens its spring season Monday at the Rice Intercollegiate, a single-day, 36-hole event at Houston's Westwood Golf Club.
The six-team event tees off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. CT Monday, and teams will continue play for a second round to complete the tournament in the afternoon. Baylor faces Rice, Houston, Sam Houston State, Lamar and Houston Baptist.
All six teams will have six players in the lineup, with the top four scores combining for the team score each round. Baylor's lineup is led by
Ryan Grider, followed by
Colin Kober,
Johnny Keefer,
Trey Bosco,
Brandon Hoff and
Tyler Isenhart.
Luke Morgan and
Luke Dossey will compete as individuals in the 44-player field.
Head coach
Mike McGraw's Bears enter the spring season ranked No. 6 in the Golfweek Division I team rankings and No. 25 in the Golfstat rankings. Five Bears are ranked top-50 nationally in Golfweek's collegiate individual rankings, led by Grider at No. 16, Keefer at No. 26,
Cooper Dossey at No. 33,
Travis McInroe at No. 35 and Kober at No. 46.
The Bears successfully completed all three scheduled fall tournaments, winning the 2020 Big 12 Match Play Championship for its second title in the event's three-year history, and claimed fourth place at both the Colonial Collegiate Invitational and Maridoe Collegiate Invitational.
