Seattle is a music city. On any given night, there are dozens of events worth attending. To that end, it can be a daunting task to find the show that’s worth the trek. This weekly guide can help you filter by recommended shows, your favorite genres and the days you have free, so you can see what’s happening when.

This Week’s Highlights

Brockhampton, 9 p.m. Saturday at WaMu Theater. Brockhampton is a hip-hop collective started in San Marcos, Texas, in 2010 by vocalist and producer Kevin Abstract. Originally under the name AliveSinceForever, Brockhampton has more than 10 members, including multi-instrumentalist Bearface, vocalist and producer Joba, and vocalist Merlyn Wood. All of Brockhampton’s songs feel really cinematic: seamlessly and creatively moving from one voice or vignette to another. Their live shows are known to be quite theatrical as well, with artful costumes and visuals.

Tank & The Bangas with Big Freedia, 8 p.m. Tuesday at Neptune Theater. This group won NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert contest in 2017 with their percussive, interactive and soulful music, which draws deeply on their New Orleans roots. On Tuesday, they bring with them Big Freedia, an artist who has been instrumental in popularizing the bounce style of New Orleans hip-hop at the national level. All around, these artists bring the energetic, macabre and spontaneous heart of New Orleans to the stage, and offer lots of chances to get up and dance.
