A Westmoreland County judge declared a mistrial in the case against Eric Wright after jurors were unable to reach a verdict. Jurors deliberated for nearly 14 hours over the span of two days before declaring an impasse Friday afternoon.
Wright, 49, is charged in connection to six separate sexual assault cases across two decades. Prosecutors have called Wright a sexual predator that targeted young girls and women ages 12 to 50.
All six alleged victims testified throughout the course of the trial.
Wright was remanded back to the Westmoreland County prison on bail pending a new trial. Prosecutors indicated in court that they would pursue a retrial, but the new trial date was not immediately scheduled.
