President-elect Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration isn’t the only one happening this month. Biden’s adopted German Shepherd named Major will have his own “indoguration” to raise funds for his former shelter, according to The Hill.

The gathering will be virtual and held on Sunday, Jan. 17 just days before the Jan. 20 presidential inauguration. Delaware Humane Association will host the virtual event alongside Pumpkin Pet Insurance.

The association’s website reads:

Delaware Humane Association & Pumpkin Pet Insurance invite you + your pup to the world’s largest virtual party for dogs in honor of Major Biden’s Indoguration. Join us to celebrate the first-ever shelter pup to become First Dog and raise funds to help more DHA shelter animals like Major live the American Dream!
To claim your spot, simply donate $10 or more to DHA today.

Major was adopted back in 2018 and will be the first rescue shelter dog in the White House. The participating dogs in the “indoguration” reportedly will also be able to join “Major’s Cabinet for the Secretary of Rescue Dogs.”

With 100 percent of the proceeds going to Delaware Humane Association, the executive director Patrick Carroll hopes the “indoguration” will raise awareness for shelter dogs and other homeless animals who need homes.

“With Major heading to the White House, it’s our sincere hope that we can continue to connect more homeless animals with families than ever before,” Carroll said in a statement, according to The Hill. “If a shelter dog is good enough for the White House, they’re good enough for your house!”
