A 21-year-old man was killed when he was thrown from the ATV he was riding and then struck by another vehicle.
The incident happened Wednesday afternoon along Main Street in Marianna, Washington County. State police said Tyler Markoff was riding the vehicle when he tried to make a right turn and rolled the ATV.
Investigators said Markoff was thrown from the vehicle onto the road and a car coming the opposite direction swerved to avoid crashing into the ATV and ended up hitting Markoff.
Markoff was flown to a hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Markoff was a Marianna volunteer firefighter. A firemen's viewing will be held Monday, July 22, at the Greenlee Funeral Home in Beallsville.
Funeral services will be at Greenlee at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, followed by a funeral procession to Washington Cemetery.
