The Brain Lab’s groundbreaking technologies optimize neural function to treat mental illness and help high performers attain their full potential. In addition to providing NAD therapies, IV drips, and neurofeedback, The Brain Lab’s clinics offer Personalized Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (PrTMS), a brand-new noninvasive therapy.

“At The Brain Lab, every patient receives life-changing outpatient care that would have been impossible even a few years ago,” said Nicholas Mathews, co-founder of The Brain Lab.

Relying on the latest research, The Brain Lab’s medical doctors use this cutting-edge technology to address a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, sleep deprivation, concussion, and bipolarity. PrTMS has also proven effective for fostering peak performance.

What is PrTMS?

PrTMS is next-generation TMS (or rTMS) therapy, which the FDA approved in 2008. While TMS machines flood patients’ whole brains with magnetic pulses — usually between 50 to 100 hertz — irrespective of their specific needs, PrTMS delivers precise doses exactly to those regions of the cortex where it is needed.

To this extent, patients at The Brain Lab first receive a review of their medical history and symptoms. This is followed by an EEG brain scan — a fast, painless, noninvasive process that employs sensors on the scalp. Analysts code each quadrant of the patient’s brain to identify areas that are not functioning correctly or could be operating better.

“Life happens. Fight or flight responses kick in. All kinds of different things cause late firings and early firings of the brain’s neurons. But when the brain isn’t firing in unison, it can create feelings of anxiety and depression,” Mathews explained.

Considering the data from the EEG and the results of cognitive tests, The Brain Lab’s physicians use a patent-pending protocol to customize a treatment plan. The objective is to target discordant parts of the individual’s brain and encourage synapses to fire at the right time.

“Undergoing PrTMS treatment pushes everything back in line,” Mathews said. “At the end of your treatment program, your EEG will be much cleaner. There will be less brain activity before and after your peak, and your brain will be firing in order as it’s supposed to.”

PrTMS treatment is not only effective for those suffering from mental health conditions, but also for CEOs, leaders, and others who want to be the best version of themselves.

“PrTMS makes you so much sharper,” Mathews stated. “You’re more efficient than you were because you have less white noise going on in your head.”

Where to Get PrTMS

The Brain Lab currently operates a location in Los Angeles overseen by Dr. Abe Malkin, who earned his combined MD/MBA degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine Residency at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles. Dual board-certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine, he has founded multiple health care companies, including Concierge MD Los Angeles, Drip Hydration, and Elite Home Detox.

The Brain Lab owns two mobile units. The first, a van, provides treatments at substance abuse centers and other facilities; the second is a mobile home that may be used for government-funded programs and to reach prison inmates.

Seize a Brighter Future with The Brain Lab

Now, patients in Los Angeles can receive the same personalized care to overcome their own challenges and live life to the fullest. By creating synergy between brain and body, The Brain Lab helps unlock a bigger, better future even for those who have lost all hope.
