Grundy County Schools Closing for a week

No classes until Sept 13

ALTAMONT, Tennessee (WDEF) – Grundy County Schools have decided to shut down for a week because of rising Covid cases.

The closure begins immediately, on Friday.

It extends through all of next week.

Administrators expect to return to class on Monday, September 13th.

They will use 3 stockpile days and 2 snow days (along with the Labor Day holiday).

All school extra-curricular activities are cancelled during that time.

That includes two high school football games against Giles County and Bledsoe County.
