Twenty-five Arizona Interscholastic Association high schools so far have canceled fall sports in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with another canceling all sports for the the entire 2020-21 school year.

Tohono O’odham is the only school that requested cancellation of sports for the full school year with the AIA's Executive Board, which on Monday during its board meeting granted all cancellation requests without being fined because of the global pandemic.

Of the 25 schools without fall sports, 21 of those are on an Indian reservation with another, Page, having the majority of its student population coming in from the Navajo reservation. That reservation became one of the world's biggest COVID-19 hot spots this summer.
