Supporters will walk from the Town Green to the end of the breakwall and back during the 2019 Wellness Walk on Thursday, October 24.

Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse organises the walk.

The clubhouse's chief executive officer Rob Moorehead said the event was a fantastic opportunity to get out for a walk and increase your physical activity while showing your support for people living with mental illness, their families and carers.

"The act of walking reflects that living with mental illness is a step-by-step, one-step-at-a-time process," Mr Moorehead said.

He said walking together would help reduce stigma, and raise awareness about mental health and Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse's work as a recovery facility.

The Wellness Walk begins at 10am on Thursday, October 24 at the Town Green.

There will be a sausage sizzle following the walk for a gold coin donation.

The Port Macquarie Wellness Walk is part of Mental Health Month.
