Olive O’Connor “crossed the bar” peacefully in the early morning of May 3rd, 2013 at the age of 94.

At the time of her death she was in rehabilitation for a fractured femur.
Olive was a giving lady, a caretaker with a sharp mind and wit who showed a keen interest in others and
their lives.

Her favorite pastime was always “playing in the dirt” taking care of the yard, garden and flowers.

She loved politics and kept up on current events and was an enthusiastic Mariner and Zag fan.

Olive was generous and donated to many charities.

She always remembered her grand children and great grand children’s special occasions.

She will be missed by those whose lives she touched.
Olive was born on October 22, 1918 in Spokane, WA to parents Edna and Charles Meenach.

She grew up on a farm in Valleyford, WA, and graduated from Lindbergh H.S.

She went on to graduate from Kinmen Business School and in her 40’s became an LPN and spent many years giving loving care to the patients of Rockwood Manor in Spokane.
At the age of 19 she married her soul mate, Jay O’Connor and they enjoyed each other’s company for 75+ years.

She was always at his side participating in archery, hunting, boating and in making and restoring antique pottery.

She was active in the Valleyford Community church until moving to Spokane Valley.
Olive was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Charles, Lew and Ray Meenach.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jay O’Connor, two daughters and husbands, Diane and Ken Klawunder of Gustavus, AK and Marilyn and Lee Jassman of Valleyford, WA.

Olive has four grandchildren and eleven great- grandchildren.
At Olive’s request no memorial or funeral services will be held.
