West Virginia / submitted by Deborah Gill of Norfolk
Having missed traveling over the summer, September rolled around, and I declared to my husband, “I gotta get out of here.” Still being cautious about hotels and other travelers, we picked the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. We love the classy atmosphere and yet great outdoor adventures they provide. From horseback riding to golf, fly fishing, hiking and walking trails, to visits to the artists’ studios and, my favorite, the Christmas store, and my husband’s, the Casino, it has something for everyone. Historic Lewisburg is nearby and has the best women’s clothing boutiques plus art galleries and neat restaurants from old town to snazzy contemporary. We hope 2021 will allow us to travel farther afield again soon, but we’ll keep going back to The Greenbrier.
