PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Prince George's County and the Capital Area Food Bank are teaming up to host pop-up food pantries from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at three locations across the county.

On Monday, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan ordered all bars, restaurants, movie theaters and gyms across the state to close and prohibited all gatherings of more than 50 people. The food pantries are seen as a way for Prince George's County to help residents struggling to get by during closures resulting from the state's response to fight the spread of the new coronavirus.

"These pantries are for those who cannot afford to buy adequate food and who would normally seek help from our food pantry," County Executive Angela Alsobrooks said during a news conference Monday.
