What comes after “Hot Girl Summer”? Thanks to Megan Thee Stallion’s new collaboration with Fashion Nova, we can confirm it is in fact “Hot Girl” autumn. The rapper, on the brink of releasing her Good News album this Friday, is partnering with the company on a full collection of “Hot Girl” pieces that her fans will want to wear in any and all seasons.

The collection takes a decidedly Western spin on Megan’s signature style, offering plenty of double denim—she is from Texas!—and a range of ruched tops and body-con flares. The goal, Megan says, is to encourage women to feel as confident in their own skin as she feels in hers. “Tall women, curvy women, all women are beautiful,” she tells Vogue. “And no matter how cliché it is, it’s really true—all the things that make you ‘different’ make you special. Never be ashamed about that, you gotta celebrate the things that make you you!”

Here, the musician answers our burning questions about her debut fashion collection.

What are the three things every Megan Thee Stallion outfit must have?

That’s a hard question to answer because I really do stay switching it up! But if I have to pick three, I’d say the most important things would have to be:

  1. A good fit—it’s gotta hug in all the right places.

  2. The accessories, the bag, shoes, or jewelry can make or break an outfit.

  3. The attitude! It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing; if you’re confident and feeling yourself, you can really make most things look good.

Everyone is reassessing their style because of the pandemic and going out less. Do you find that you have a distinct staying-at-home versus going-out style? What defines each?

I think everybody has a stay-in look and a going-out look. When I’m at home, it’s my downtime, so I like to be supercomfortable and low-key. And obviously when I’m going out or performing, I’m putting a look together! A performance look needs to be sexy and eye-catching. But whether I’m chilling in sweats at home or working, I feel sexy and confident. I’m always a “Hot Girl.”

What are your goals for your Fashion Nova collaboration?

I want women of all heights, sizes, and shapes to see themselves represented, and to know that they are being thought of. To try something on the first time and be like, “Wow, this just fits me perfectly,” with no adjustments needed. When you’re taller or curvier, that doesn’t happen that often, and it’s a really good feeling that everyone deserves to have. I got really tired of ordering jeans and them fitting like capris. I know tall girls felt my pain!

What was the most exciting part about being able to create your own fashion collection?

Honestly, working with Fashion Nova was great. They really allowed me to be creative. I love having freedom to express myself, so not only was I so excited to be creating a collection for women like me, I was also excited to be able to watch my vision unfold. The beautiful thing with fashion is you have all these ideas, and when they are executed, you see all kinds of women wearing what was once just ideas in your head—the vision literally comes to life. It’s really amazing.

I know it’s an impossible question, but if you could only wear one outfit from the collection, which would it be?

I don’t even know. I love so many pieces. I worked so hard on all of it. I wouldn’t be fair to pick one. I can’t wait to see what all my hotties choose as their favorites.

You’ve had so many incredible and powerful outfits this year so far—what can we expect from the rest of 2020?

I’m always trying to push the boundaries and have fun while I’m doing it. I wanna show my fans all the different sides of Megan so I really will be reflecting that in the looks I bring to the table.
