It seems like every day another fashion brand releases its own take on personal protective equipment, which has unequivocally become the must-have accessory of 2020. You can order cloth face masks online at many of your go-to shopping sites, from Everlane to Coach. And as of today, you can add Uniqlo to the list.

Uniqlo just dropped a line of face masks made of its signature cooling material dubbed Airism. Previously reserved for casual tops, leggings, workout gear, loungewear, and undergarments, the special fabric is designed to wick moisture, release heat, and absorb sweat. Not only will it stay cool to the touch and dry quickly, but it’s also odor-resistant and anti-microbial. So, it was only a matter of time before the brand started using this breathable material to fashion in-demand face masks.

The new face masks feature three layers of fabric and offer a snug fit, meeting the CDC recommendations for proper protection against the spread of the coronavirus. They include an inner layer made with mesh and Airism material that feels smooth on skin, a nano-filter layer that blocks 99 percent of particles, and an outer layer that protects against 90 percent of UV rays. After each use, you can throw the reusable masks in the washing machine on a gentle cycle so they’re ready for your next outing.
