Columbia will celebrate Juneteenth this weekend, as well as the Maury County Arts Guild's return to the stage, charity golf tournaments, cars and lots of live music.

1. Juneteenth at Riverwalk Park

The city will celebrate Juneteenth this weekend with its sixth annual gathering at Riverwalk Park, 102 Riverside Drive, starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The event will include multiple speakers, vendors, as well as free food and games, including a spades tournament.

In 2020, Columbia became one of the first cities in Tennessee to officially adopt Juneteenth as a holiday.

Each year, Juneteenth recognizes June 19, 1865 as the official day when more than 250,000 enslaved black people were set free in Texas and throughout the Southern states. This happened more than two years after President Abraham Lincoln led the charge to abolish slavery with his Emancipation Proclamation.

2. Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

The Maury County Arts Guild will present "joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," which will have performances Friday-Sunday, as well as next weekend.

As The Maury County Arts Guild, 705 Lion Parkway, preps for its 50th season, the community theater will present its latest production of "Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

Performances will be held over the next two weeks, with shows starting at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, as well as a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday. The final run of shows will be at 7 p.m. next Friday and Saturday, as well as 2 p.m. Sunday, June 26.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for students, seniors aged 60 and over and military, as well as $5 for kids ages 12 and under. To purchase tickets, visit www.TicketPeak.com or buy them at the door.

3. Columbia Cars and Coffee

This weekend will be another third Saturday of the month, which means it's time to rev those engines and get down to Columbia Motor Alley for another exciting Cars and Coffee event.

The event, which starts at 7 a.m. Saturday, will once again be held at the parking lot located at the intersection of East 7th and Woodland Streets.

Browse among many vintage and unique motor vehicles, cars and trucks provided by local and regional enthusiasts, and also be sure to grab a cup of gourmet coffee from Muletown Roasted Coffee.

Cars and Coffee will continue in July on the third Saturday of each month.

4. aMuse'um Charity Golf Tournament

aMuse'um Children's Museum will host its second annual charity golf tournament at Stoneybrook Golf Course starting at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Tee up "fore" the kids this weekend at Stoneybrook Golf Course, 119 Stoneybrook Road, for the second annual aMuse'um Charity Golf Tournament.

The tournament, which begins at 8 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m., will be a four-man scramble, and will cost $300 per team.

You can also become a sponsor for $250 per hole by emailing kids@amuseumcolumbia.com, where you can also register teams.

5. Live entertainment

The Eaglemaniacs will perform at The Mulehouse, 812 S. High St., starting at 6 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $20 and are available at www.TheMulehouse.com.

Cord Martin will perform at Vintage Winery, 616 N. Main St., starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

C.J. Hughes & The 50 Beautiful Units will perform at Bad Idea Brewing, 407 W. 11th St. in the Columbia Arts Building, starting at 7 p.m. Friday.

Step back into the 80s and 90s with Rubiks Groove, who will return to Columbia performing at the Antrim, 2759 Pulaski Highway, starting at 7 p.m. Saturday. The show is sponsored by Columbia Noon Rotary club, Tickets are $40 and are available at www.EventBrite.com, with proceeds benefiting the Rotary's community food and scholarship programs.

JC Skeen will perform at Bad Idea Brewing starting at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Fresh off his first ever Homestead Festival, Rory Feek will return to his Hardison Mill Homestead Hall, 4544 Highway 431, for another concert starting at 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $50 and are available at www.RoryFeek.com. Be sure to grab a tasty cinnamon roll and other treats from Marcy Jo's while you're there.

Pickin' in The Park returns to Harvey Park, 4001 Miles Johnson Parkway, starting at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. This week's lineup includes Jeremy Michael, BorderTown, JD Wood, Rich Fyhr and Late Night Diner. The Love Bus food truck will also be posted up during the event.

Southport will perform at Mt. Pleasant Grille, 100 Main St. in Mt. Pleasant, starting at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Escape Band will perform at Ember's Tavern and Grille, 2513 Hospitality Drive, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday.
