Kerala healthcare consultancy extends service to Bahrain

KOCHI: Kerala based healthcare consultancy company Philip Augustine Associates Pvt Ltd has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the biggest private sector hospital in Bahrain, that is, “Middle East Hospital” to start a state-of-the-art Gastroenterology and Liver Disease departments at the hospital in Bahrain.
The centre will have Indian doctors and paramedics manning the centre and will offer advanced therapeutic endoscopy, hepatology and other gastroenterology services.
The unit is expected to be commissioned in three months’ time.
In the second phase, a pancreas clinic and IBD clinic for treatment of patient with Crohn’s disease will also be set up.
Dr Varghese Kurian, eminent NRE businessman whose VKL Holdings owns Middle East Hospital, said the hospital will take the responsibility of transporting patients requiring treatment in India to PVS Memorial Hospital, Kochi and will take care of all their accommodation and other courtesies.
The MOU envisages setting up of an advanced Pathology Laboratory with Telemedicine facility in Kochi for the benefit of various hospitals in India and the Middle East.
