SHERIDAN Sheridan, Thomas Edwin, Sr., was called home by our Lord on November 25, 2002, in the Florida Keys. A sudden heart attack expedited his life. He passed on to join his two sons in heaven, Robert & Jack Sheridan. Mr. Sheridan, a Veteran, served this great country in the U.S. Coast Guard, which allowed him to travel on the seas of the world. This influence led him to later instruct at the Piney Point Merchant Marine Academy in Maryland. He began his career in the elevator industry with the Elevator Constructors AFL-CIO Local #1 in New York City. He then moved his growing family to South Florida where the weather was milder and the oceans amass. After joining the Local #71 of the International Union of Elevator Constructors as a master mechanic, he served as an esteemed board member and a political activist in union affairs between his Local and the State of Florida. In the early 70’s he lobbied in Tallahassee to protect the rights of union members. Mr. Sheridan finally retired in the Florida Keys, where he enjoyed his golden years with the oceans surrounding him. Islamorada became his final resting place. This was where he enjoyed the anonymity of his deeply enriched life; after all where else could you have a dolphin wink at you. The happiest days of his life were the ones that he spent on his houseboat, sharing the “incredible sunsets” with his treasured friends and family. The locals endeared him and he reciprocated that love, for he had the heart and soul of an angel. His brilliance shined on everyone that met him; he spread his joy for life though his humor, wit, and giving spirit. Surviving his great loss are his immediate family: his former wife and lifelong friend, Sylvia Sheridan; two sons, Thomas E. Sheridan, Jr. and Patrick E. Sheridan; and daughters, Susan Sheridan-Garlitts and Julia Starr. He will be truly missed and grieved by all of his family and his immeasurable number of friends; especially by two anonymous characters referred to as Tom and Jerry…one crazy cat and one very smart mouse. Chief Petty Officer Perez will hold the memorial service at the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Islamorada, FL, Mile Marker 86, on December 15, 2002, at 1 PM. Cremation arrangements by T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, 954-587-6888, www.tmralph.com.

He will be missed by many relatives and friends: Sylvia Rosnick, Leslie & Lenny Flug, Michael & Alica Sherman, Phil Sloves, Lisa Sloves, Richard & Dee Dee Berkowitz, Frank Dvorak, Jim Carbone, Dennis O’Neal, Bobby and the entire Greer Family. The best way to describe Herb are those in the words of Annie Baggett. “Herb was someone who taught us many life lessons in love, kindness, generosity and patience. He was a very special person who made a positive mark on this crazy world with each person he met. His gentle nature, quick wit and smile have endeared and embraced many. It takes a very loving and giving person to reach those in need.” He volunteered his time at the Seafarer’s House. A memorial service will be held Saturday December 14, 2002 at 3:30, at the chapel in the Seafarer’s House, 1800 SE 32 Street, Port Everglade (located in Port Everglades, 954-467-7330). IN LOVING MEMORY

EDWARD H. FASS July 22, 1938 – December 8, 2000 Dad, Two years have already passed. The first year I barely remember. I now know that you’re in a different place. And though we’re apart, We’re closer than we ever were. For you’re right inside my heart. You’re with me when I greet each day, And when the sun shines bright, And you’re there to share the sunsets, And you’re with me every night. You’re with me when times are good. And we share a laugh or two, And when a tear begins to fall, I know you’re still there for me. Till the day arrives when you can hold me close again, You’ll be forever in my heart. I love and miss you dad! Love your daughter, Sandra
