What's happening in Bucks County and beyond: Fall festivals, comedy and beerfest

Fall is nearly upon us, and that means the return of family-friendly fall festivals and other events.

Here's a look at some of the events happening in Bucks County this weekend. 

Yardley Harvest Day

One of Yardley's most popular traditions returns for 2021. Stroll the borough from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine. Visit crafts and food vendors along Canal Street, East College Avenue and South Bell, and enjoy live music and other entertainment in the field adjacent to the Fitzgerald Sommer Funeral home. The family-friendly event is free.

Falls Township Touch a Truck and Family Festival

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., explore dozens of trucks and large machinery during a Touch a Truck event at Falls Township Community Park. The free family-friendly event also features giveaways, character appearances, bounce houses, face painting, a balloon artist, face painter, DJ, and food available for purchase. Proceeds benefit Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and The Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation.

Following Touch a Truck will be Falls Township’s annual Family Festival from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. The festival will feature food trucks, costumed characters, a strolling magician, a caricature artist, a balloon artist, bounce house and face painter, and end with fireworks.

Rain date is Sept. 25.

Falls Township will host its Touch a Truck and Family Festival Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at at Falls Township Community Park, 9050 Mill Creek Road.

Halloween Spooktacular at Sesame Place

Celebrate the season with The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular and the Not-Too-Spooky Halloween Drive-Thru at Sesame Place in Middletown.

Through Nov. 7, the park’s 17 acres will be transformed into a family-friendly Halloween haven. Come in costume and enjoy trick-or-treating around the park, as well as Halloween-themed shows and a parade, scarecrow scavenger hunts, rides and more.

Sesame Place will transform into a not-so-spooky Halloween playground starting Saturday, Sept. 18, through Nov. 7.

Newtown Beerfest

Support the Newtown Fire Association during the return of Newtown Beer Fest, 12:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stocking Works, 410 S. State St.

Ticket prices range from $45 to $75; $10 for designated drivers.

Enjoy a variety of beer tastings, food and live entertainment.

Liberty Comedy at Sellersville Theater

Ophira Eisenberg and Tony Deyo will perform at Sellersville Theater on Friday, Sept. 17.

Comedians Ophira Eisenberg and Tony Deyo bring their stand-up show to the Sellerville Theater, 8 to 11 p.m. Friday. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; tickets are $25.

Liberty Comedy is a premier group of stand-up comedians touring America. Known for their elite brand of clever comedy, they've made appearances on late-night TV, Comedy Central and more.

Outdoor concert at St. Philip's Episcopal

Internationally known guitarist/composer Peter Griggs will perform in concert at St. Philip's Episcopal Church at 3 p.m. Sunday. He will perform a selection of Spanish and Brazilian music, as well as several of his own compositions.

Guitarist/composer Peter Griggs will perform Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in New Hope.
