West Deptford Man Dies; 13 Test Positive For Coronavirus

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — A 97-year-old West Deptford man has died after testing positive for the coronavirus, Gloucester County officials announced on Tuesday.

He is the 21st West Deptford resident and 277th Gloucester County resident to die after testing positive for the virus. The county also announced that a 74-year-old Woolwich man, a 90-year-old Glassboro woman and a 58-year-old Greenwich woman have also died.

The county also announced 125 new cases on Tuesday, bringing the county’s total to 9,435 since the beginning of the pandemic. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases.

A 4-year-old boy was among the 13 newest cases reported among West Deptford residents. The other new cases in West Deptford included:

  • A 32-year-old man;
  • A 26-year-old man;
  • An 80-year-old woman;
  • A 34-year-old woman;
  • A 42-year-old woman;
  • A 38-year-old man;
  • A 54-year-old man;
  • A 27-year-old man;
  • A 41-year-old woman;
  • A 30-year-old woman;
  • A 24-year-old man; and
  • An 83-year-old woman.

As of Tuesday, Gloucester County has conducted 97,018 total tests. Of these cases, 87,583 have come back negative. One case has been moved out of the county.

Gloucester County is expecting the number of cases to increase. Officials remind residents that social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases.
