NC Middle school principal to appear in court on sexual exploitation charges

WILSON COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A North Carolina middle school principal was arrested over the weekend and is expected to make his first court appearance Monday, on charges that he sexually exploited a minor.

Ronald Barringer was the principal of Springfield Middle School in Lucama, North Carolina which is located in Wilson, County. He was arrested on Friday.

He is facing a total of 24 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Police say the incident happened in the principal's car on the 100 block of Goldsboro Street, but it is unclear if the minor in question was a student at Springfield Middle School.

The case has been turned over to the SBI, and following his arrest Barringer, resigned from his job.
