Woman Dies In Single-Car Accident In Jefferson County
A woman died after her vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a ravine in Pleasant Grove Wednesday.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A woman died Wednesday after her vehicle left the road and ended up in a ravine in Pleasant Grove. The incident occurred just after 4:30 p.m. on Pleasant Grove Road near Cypress Circle.
Deputy Chief David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's office said family members began to look for the victim when she did not return home on time. Family members located the vehicle and notified the JCSO.
AGee said the preliminary investigation reveals that the driver may have fallen asleep while driving. The victim’s body was released to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
