Have a good Thursday. Stayed up all night again. Played Witcher 3 for most of the night, with a bit of Modern Warfare multiplayer online with my friends that were still awake. Finally got to my first Wild Hunt warrior after 10 hours of play. Pretty strong dude, going to take a few tries to slay him down. He does a few intermediate health recharges with an unbreakable shield, while he sicks the wolves on you a few times. I need to go find a blacksmith and get my silver sword repaired after I get out of this place. Some of the most fun with a game I've had in my life. I even used to never play RPGs, which seems crazy to me now.


2009 New Holland Night Tripper. This is tasting fantastic. Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, vanilla, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness on the finish. Mellow carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, velvety and lightly slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering hop/char bitter dryness; no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors. Dangerously smooth/soft, mild increasing warmth of 10.8%. Amazing rich malt complexity with balancing earthy hops and restrained fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Despite soft carbonation, very little oxidation to be found! Very similar to the 2008 I had 2 weeks ago, not surprisingly. Maybe just a little more bitter/drying, and not as heavy bodied. 4.25

Nice beer and nice game! I haven't played Witcher 3 since all the DLC came out for it I am about to buy it on Steam and give it a go. I've been playing Outer Worlds recently.

 

Maybe time to re-stock on less...morbid beer names.

Just got home from mowing the lawn at Mom & Dad's house. It's funny to me that I've mowed theirs twice already and I haven't done ours once yet. Dad has always been quite particular about the lawn .

Most stuff is on hold til after the virus isolation order, but as long as I can get my name into as many places as possible I can decide what I want to take if the money is right.

Anchorage Catalyst. Awesome hoppy kolsch. Lasting fluffy head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light biscuit/toasted malts; herbal, floral, grassy hops and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hp astringency. Very smooth, refreshing, zero warming 5%. Awesome Citra, Galaxy, Motueka profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great clean pale/wheat malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. Loved it. 4.13
