A dreary week ahead for Northeast Ohio: Cleveland, Akron weather

CLEVELAND, Ohio — This is looking like a gloomy weather week in Northeast Ohio. There could be a nice turn by the weekend, however.

Monday gets things off to a damp, cool start in both the Akron and Cleveland areas. It will be cloudy, showers are likely, and high temperatures still stay in the low 50s, according to the National Weather Service. Showers are most likely in the late afternoon in Akron and during the evening and late Monday night in Cleveland. Rain is likely overnight and temps will drop to the low 40s.

It will remain cloudy and cool on Tuesday, with highs struggling to reach 50 degrees. There is about a 30 percent chance of showers throughout the day. No rain is expected overnight but it will be mostly cloudy and chilly as temps dip to the upper 30s.

Wednesday could offer a respite from the gloom. Forecasts are calling for mostly sunny skies in Cleveland and partly sunny in Akron. Highs will be in the mid-50s.

The dreary weather returns Thursday, with highs in the low 50s and good chances of showers under mostly cloudy skies. There will be similar conditions overnight with lows around 40.

Friday won’t be bad in Cleveland, with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid-50s. The weekend is looking good, though ... mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-50s both Saturday and Sunday.

Monday’s sunrise: 7:52 a.m.

Sunset: 6:29 p.m.
