The Case Of The Missing Beer Keg: Newton Police Logs

Also, several wallets reported stolen and a couple of assaults this week in the Newton Police Logs.

NEWTON, MA — In the past week a beer keg was taken off a truck unloading beer kegs, several people reported their credit cards stolen, and a dog bit someone, according to police.

Here's a sample of the types of calls the Newton Police Department respond to each day from the Newton Police logs, crime chart and sometimes police scanner radio, which are public. Arrests do not imply conviction. And just because someone reports a crime does not mean it happened that way.

Wednesday, Dec. 5

Missing: Went to 300 Boylston st for a report of a B&E to a MV....was in the gym at 300 Boylston st
when somebody went into his locker and took his keys and jacket and broke into his vehicle.
Generator gone: Someone told police that between a portable generator went missing from the DPW Recycling Depot located on Rumford Ave.
Beer Keg: Police responded to Austin St for a report of a stolen beer keg. Someone had been unloading beer kegs in front of the Union St Restaurant in Newton Centre. At one point when they came back to the truck, a passerby told him that someone got out of a vehicle, took a keg off the truck, placed it in their car and drove away.
Lock your car: Someone came into police headquarters to report their car was broken into while it was parked on Park Street.
Break in: Someone reported their home was broken into on Charles Street, but nothing appears to be missing at this time, they said.

Thursday, Dec. 6

Warrant Arrest: Police arrested Parsea Sean Pousti, 20, of Framingham on a warrant.

Wallet gone: Someone reported that her wallet was stolen at the TJ Maxx at 141 Needham St. said that her purse was in her cart and at some point the wallet was stolen from her purse. She told police that credit card companies advised her that the credit cards were used at the Bloomingdales and Apple store at 199 Boylston St. Employees at the Apple store gave a description of the two suspects involved as a Hispanic male and female wearing black coats.

And then: A woman told police that while she was in the frozen food section of Whole Foods at 916 Walnut St her wallet was stolen. She said someone must have taken it while she was looking in the freezer portion, because when she turned around her purse was opened and her wallet was stolen from inside of it.

Copper gone: Someone told police that at some point over the last two weeks someone stole some 100 feet of coper water piping from a vacant Brook Road home.

Friday, Dec. 7

Warrant Arrest: Police arrested Andre Oleg Svistunov, 30, of Waltham on a Defaul warrant out of Newton District Court.

Larcenies: There were four larcines reported including one on Coyne Road, one at the Boston Sports Club, one at the TJ Maxx and one on Woodchester Drive.

Unconcious: Someone reported an unconcious person at the Falls near Cordingly Dam near 2300 Washington Street.

Bitten: Someone reported a dog bit someone at the Cold Springs Playground.

Saturday, Dec. 8

Vandals: Someone reported that the front door window of a business on the 300 block Auburn St. were smashed.

Wallet stolen: Someone reported that her wallet was taken from her purse while she was shopping at the 141 Needham St, TJ Maxx. She told police she believes that it was someone in a
group of two males and one female who kept standing very close to her and bumping into her. But it wasn't until she went to pay for items she discovered that it was missing. While waiting for police to arrive she contacted one of her credit card companies, which advised her that it had just been used at the Nordstrom store in the Natick Mall.

Larceny: Someone reported something stolen from the Golda Meir Elderly Housing on Stanton Avenue.

Sunday, Dec. 9

Credit Card missing: Someone called police to report that a credit card went missing after he put it in a locker at the Boston Sports Club on Wells Ave. He said he checked his account
online and noticed unauthorized transactions.

Shut it: Someone reported a dog barking at 6:29 a.m. on Oakdale Road.

What's with the noise? Someone reported hearing fireworks on Chapel Street.

Monday, Dec. 10

Assaults: Someone reported an assault and battery near the corner of Beacon Street and Stone Avenue at 1:02 p.m. Then, someone reported another one at 3 p.m. near the corner of Jewett and Waban streets.

Larceny: Police responded to a report of a larceny on Walnut Street.

Investigation: Newton police noted they were at Newton South at 1:49 p.m. for an investigation.

Tuesday, Dec. 11

Shoplifting: TJ Maxx reported a shoplifter.

In the moment: Someone called police to report someone was breaking into their home on Beverly Road at 7:08 p.m

Break in: A Lake Ave resident reported their home was broken into.
