Earthquake reported in central Kentucky

WADDY, Ky. (FOX19) - The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported an earthquake in a small, central Kentucky town near the state’s capitol Monday morning.

USGS says a magnitude 2.4 earthquake shook Waddy, Kentucky at 9:23 a.m.

Waddy is about 10 miles southeast of Shelbyville near Frankfort.

The government website says 2.4 magnitude earthquakes are small and weak and usually do not leave behind damage.
