AUDIO: China's Global Times calls Australia 'hypocritical' over treatment of Chinese students

Government-backed English language newspaper in China, The Global Times, has called Australia 'hypocritical' over how they say, Australia has put ideology over academic freedom.
It comes after a public speech made by the CEO of Australia's Group of 8 Universities Vicki Thomson earlier this month, where she called for a 'recalibration' of Australia's message towards international students, after many were told to leave during the first year of COVID.
This week, the Global Times have used Ms Thomson's comments in articles where they say Australia's treatment of Chinese students throughout the pandemic is not 'not conducive to the development of China-Australia relations'.
Vicky Thomson spoke with ABC NewsRadio's Dale Drinkwater.
