Marcus Collins Joins Wieden+Kennedy New York as Head of Planning

A veteran of agencies and academia, he says marketers must 'get close to culture'

Having left the agency world to focus on completing his doctorate and teach full-time, Marcus Collins was skeptical when he heard that Wieden+Kennedy was interested in bringing him on board.

But the resulting conversations—with COO Neal Arthur and CCO Karl Lieberman—proved to be “almost like having a great first date,” said Collins. So about a year after leaving Detroit agency Doner, Collins has returned to agency life as the head of planning for Wieden+Kennedy New York.
