AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Amy Corrigall-Jones sentenced Eric Hendon, 33, of Fawler Avenue in Akron, to life in prison without parole for killing three people in Barberton on December 31, 2013.

The sentence was in line with the jury's recommendation.

"Eric Hendon executed three people, and nearly killed a fourth. This was one of the most horrific cases we have ever prosecuted and he deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison," said Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh. "I am relieved to know Eric Hendon will no longer be able to harm any other innocent people."

Hendon was convicted last month of the 2013 murders of 42-year-old John Kohler and his two teenaged children, as well as the attempted murder of Kohler's live-in girlfriend, Ronda Blankenship.

Eric's brother, Michael Hendon, was sentenced last year to three consecutive sentences of life without parole after being convicted of the same crimes.
