1. The Undoing

Sky

Written and produced by David E Kelley, the man behind Big Little Lies, The Undoing is another glossily addictive whodunnit set in a world of privilege.

Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant play wealthy New York couple Grace and Jonathan Fraser, whose luxurious life is destroyed when they’re very publicly implicated in the gruesome murder of a younger woman. The six-part series ticks all the right boxes: secrets, glamour, a perfect life imploding.

2. Brave New World

NBC Universal

This new nine-part adaptation is an update of Aldous Huxley’s classic dystopian novel, set in an unsettling future where society is divided into a genetically engineered social hierarchy. Monogamy, privacy, money and family are all banned for citizens of ‘New London’, who take a pill to quell their darker urges.

Harry Lloyd (Viserys Targaryen in Game Of Thrones) stars as Huxley’s misfit hero Bernard Marx, who’s thrown together with scientist Lenina Crowne (Downton’s Jessica Brown Findlay, pictured). The pair begin to question their life in ‘New London’ when they visit the Savage Lands, home to natural-born humans. Also starring Alden Ehrenreich as John the Savage, with a cameo from Demi Moore, this drama is polished, action-packed and peppered with cliffhangers that will keep you hitting ‘next episode’.

Sky

Billie Piper is on magnificent form in this brash, bold and edgy drama, playing a volatile former child star whose career and life unravels when compromising photos of her are leaked online.

The razor-sharp script – from Succession writer and all-round genius Lucy Prebble – charts the ensuing trainwreck via the eight stages of grief, from shock to acceptance. A quirky, no-holds-barred riot, with a spiky, difficult heroine you still end up rooting for.

Sky

Based on the erotic short stories of Anaïs Nin, this provocative 1950s-set drama stars Juno Temple as troubled American heiress Lucy Savage. Desperate for adventure, she travels to the buzzing melting pot of colonial Tangier, Morocco, to be with her fiancé, English aristocrat Hugo Cavendish-Smyth (Hugh Skinner) – who is secretly in love with an Egyptian prince.

The vibe is racy, sensual and dream-like, punctuated with moments of humour: a completely original drama that you won’t forget.

Nick Wall//Sky

Maisie Williams stars in this six-part dark comedy as Kim Noakes, a doomsday prepper who’s grown up in virtual isolation with her mum Tina (Fleabag’s Sian Clifford). Running away from home to experience the real world, Kim has to face situations she could never have even dreamed of before.

As if that wasn’t enough, Kim is also on a mission to kill the man who murdered her dad. Kim’s quest only gets more urgent when she’s led to believe a nuclear apocalypse is just two weeks away. The only question is: will she make it in time?
