Foley - Elwood Bryant Shackelford "Shack", 81 passed away peacefully at his home in Alabama on August 18, 2021, with his wife by his side. He was the husband of Delores Shackelford. They shared nineteen and a half years of marriage. He was born in Lee County, Kentucky. He was the son of Elington and Mildred Shackelford. He graduated from Newport High School in 1958. He was a beloved employee of The Kroger Company as a head meat cutter. He was a long time Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Dayton Kentucky. He will be remembered for his zest for life and his love of family and friends. You could always count on Shack to make you laugh no matter the situation. He is survived by his wife, Delores Shackelford, children, Debbie Dearmas, and Pamela Whaley. Grandchildren, Nicholas Cook, Joseph Cook, and Christina Galbiati and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brother, Lloyd Shackelford, and sister Joan (Cole) Shackelford. He was predeceased by his first wife, Sandra Jean Shackelford, brothers Sandford Shackelford and Wayne Shackelford, and sister Jenny Downard. The graveside service will be held at Burlington Cemetery on Friday August 27 at 1130 with interment at the Burlington Cemetery. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
