AMBLER, PA — Ambler has announced the latest phase of parking upgrades for the borough.

The old coin operated street parking meters will be replaced by meters compatible with a new parking app, called Flowbird, borough councilman Frank Du Ruosi said.

The new meters will still accept coins, but will also allow for payment via the app and a credit card.

Flowbird notifies users when the meter is about to expire, and users can also add time to the meter without having to go all the way back to their vehicle. They can simply make the change on the app itself without leaving wherever they are.

The new meters will be installed both in the streets and in the parking lot kiosks around town.
