Frances R. Holopirek

Timken - Frances R. Holopirek, Timken, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La Crosse, Kansas.

Frances was born September 18, 1943, in La Crosse, Kansas, the daughter of Stephen and Anna (Kreutzer) Herrman. She was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas. A 1961 graduate of La Crosse High School, La Crosse, Kansas, she was a homemaker and farm wife. Frances was a proof reader and typesetter for the Rush County News, La Crosse, Kansas, for 25 years. She then was a legal secretary for John Stang Law Office, La Crosse, Kansas, for 29 years, followed by Rues Law Office, La Crosse, Kansas, for the past five years.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and St. Ann's Altar Society, both of Timken, Kansas.

Frances enjoyed family time, especially cooking Saturday lunch for everyone, playing cards, bowling, and her favorite pastime was playing the "Lucky 7" slots.

On November 15, 1965, she married Donald D. "Donnie" Holopirek at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Timken, Kansas. He preceded her in death January 25, 2011.

Survivors include: two sons, Jay D. and his wife, Heidi Holopirek, La Crosse, Kansas, and James S. Holopirek, Timken, Kansas; one daughter, Julie A. and her husband, Terry Wagner, Rush Center, Kansas; grandchildren, Matthew and Dekota Wagner, Marissa Wagner, Garrett Holopirek, Paige Holopirek, and Cade Holopirek; one brother, Stephen and his wife, Caroleen Herrman (Jr. and Lou), Tracy, California; and many nephews, nieces, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Reinhold "Reiny" and his wife, Lorrine Herrman, Harold and his wife, Esther Herrman, and Rudolph "Whitey" and his wife, Hazel Herrman; seven sisters Esther and her husband, Henry Schafer, Helen and her husband, Milton Rupp, Mary Edna and her husband, Lawrence Munsch, Ruby Herrman, Leona and her husband, Irvin Klein, Betty and her husband, Kendall Martell, and Anita and her husband, Gerald Ruder; five sisters in law, Neva and her husband, Frank Stejskal, Dorothy and her husband, Jim Stejskal, Irene Holopirek, Inez and her husband, Vernon "Bus" Scheideman, and Marie and her husband, LeRoy Reifschneider; and four brothers in law, Ralph and his wife, Arline Holpirek, Arthur "Bud" and his wife, Alverna Holopirek, Robert " Bob" and his wife, Glenna Rose Holopirek, and Marvin "Dean" and his wife, Evelyn Holopirek.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 23, 2021, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Memorial service will be Monday, May 24, 2021, at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Timken, Kansas, with Father Terry Klein, Father Stephen Dabanka officiating. Inurnment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Timken, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family request memorials to the Bohemian National Cemetery, Timken, Kansas, or the Timken Fire Department, Timken, Kansas.
