Keshena man dies, three from Marinette injured in head-on collision in Shawano County

WESCOTT - A 24-year-old Keshena man died in a two-vehicle head-on crash Sunday afternoon on State 47/55, authorities confirmed Monday.

Chance L. Latender, who was the only person in one of the two passenger cars, died at the scene, according to the Shawano County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded about 4 p.m. to a report of two passenger cars that collided head-on on State 47/55, north of County A in the town of Wescott. Three of the four people in the other car suffered injuries. All four are from Marinette. A ThedaStar helicopter flew one to a hospital, while an ambulance took the other two.

In addition to the Sheriff's Office and ThedaStar, the Shawano police and fire departments, Menominee County Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Keshena Fire Department and Shawano Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
