Glenview’s Reverse Parade

For 2020 the Glenview Park District will host a “reverse” parade. Community groups, businesses and local organizations can join the parade with a stationary float or display. Residents are encouraged to decorate their vehicles and drive through the park to both see the entries and become part of the parade. Parade goers get a free ticket for the event. indicating the reserved time to drive through the parade and can be printed and displayed on your dashboard. Each 15-minute time block will issue 50 tickets – only one ticket is needed per car. You can’t select a timeslot when getting a ticket – once the first time slot is filled, the next one will open.

Winnetka’s Fourth of July on Wheels

Residents who participate in this “reverse parade,” decorate their vehicles and drive by the Village Green (parade order will be determined alphabetically by last name). The spectators are The Village, Park District, live bands, Uncle Sam on stilts, and more lined up along Elm Street to cheer on the parade. There will be a competition for the best decorated vehicles with lots of great prizes! Residents will enter the parade at the Village Green on Elm Street at Maple Street, with line up occurring eastbound from Green Bay Road.

Today we’ll visit the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, which is housed in a former railway station built between 1898 and 1900. The museum holds mainly French art dating from 1848 to 1914, including paintings, sculptures, furniture, and photography. It houses the largest collection of impressionist and post-Impressionist masterpieces in the world. With Google’s Arts and Culture Project all ages can view the transformation from train station built for the Universal Exhibition of 1900 to one of the largest art museums in Europe.

The pantry, located at James Park, offers Evanston residents free, prepackaged boxes of food, including non-perishable items, produce, and protein.
