Situation outside Jamia Millia University turned tense on Tuesday as another group of people were spotted proceeding towards the university and chanting slogans of desh ke gaddaron ko, goli maro s****n ko (shoot traitors of the country).


As many as 62 police personnel and 127 others were injured during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act at Jamia Millia Islamia, the government told Lok Sabha Tuesday. Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy also said that as reported by the Delhi Police, they entered the university campus chasing a “violent congregation of students/mob, to nab/disperse the offenders, control the situation and to protect the government property as well as saving the lives of innocent students residing in the area.”


AAP chief and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has challenged the BJP to announce its chief ministerial candidate by 1 pm on Wednesday and said he is ready for a public debate with that candidate.

Delhi HC has asked the state to file a counter-affidavit in compliance with the last order. SG Tushar Mehta has accepted the notice on behalf of the state. The next date of hearing is April 29.
