A 47-year-old Vallejo man was arrested in Woodland early Wednesday morning on drug-related charges after he tossed a bag of drugs onto the pavement in front of a sheriff’s deputy.

According to the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, William Gordon was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of methamphetamine for sale and possession of heroin.

“A deputy watched a vehicle enter the parking lot of a gas station on North East Street, near I-5, in Woodland,” officials from the Sheriff’s Office said. “Prior to pulling up next to a fuel pump, the driver drove to the far side of the parking lot where he threw a bag out of his car.”

When the deputy approached Gordon, he learned that he was on probation for possession of methamphetamine for sale.

“The bag Gordon threw was found to contain a half-pound of methamphetamine, heroin, packaging material, and digital scales,” officials said.

Gordon was booked into Yolo County Jail.
