Pest Issue Forces Northeast Market To Close

The Northeast Market is closed Tuesday to investigating a pest-related issue.

According to a post on Facebook, “Baltimore Public Markets is currently working with the Baltimore City Health Department and a third-party pest control company to investigate any recent activity that has been reported to us. We are implementing new protocol across all the Markets to ensure that we are addressing any issues immediately and in the best interest of all.”

There is no word yet on what kind of pest, if any, was reported in the market, or when the market will reopen.

Lexington Market was closed Friday after a rat was seen at a bakery there the day before.
