Tom Bergeron Implies He'll Never Return to 'Dancing with the Stars'

Don’t expect Tom Bergeron to return to the Dancing with the Stars ballroom.

During a new interview, the 65-year-old former DWTS host implied that he has no plans on hosting the show ever again after getting fired over the summer.

“When people say, ‘I’m not gonna watch until you’re back,’ I say, ‘Well, there’s really no ‘until’ here,’” Tom explained to TV Guide Magazine. “This train has left the station.”

With that, Tom doesn’t have any bad feelings for fans that still watch the show, even after he and co-host Erin Andrews were replaced by Tyra Banks.

“I appreciate the sentiment,” Tom continued. “[But] I don’t hold it against anybody if they [watch].”

Back in July, ABC announced that they were letting go of Tom and Erin from DWTS with Tyra being the new host for season 29. Tom hosted the show for 28 seasons while Erin hosted for 10. You can find out why they were fired here.

Also in the new interview, Tom revealed what he misses most about the show.

“I used to throw midseason parties for cast and staff. It helped create a sense of solidarity,” Tom recalled. “And then we’d try to sober up the next day.”
