A student burned in a dormitory fire at Western Kentucky University remained in a coma Monday at a hospital as police investigated the Sunday blaze.
Meanwhile, students at the university began final exams as scheduled.
The student, identified as Katie Autry, a freshman from Pellville, also had puncture wounds that a university spokesman described as superficial.
An official with the state fire marshal’s office Sunday described the dorm fire as a crime scene, but referred calls Monday to university officials.
Autry’s family members declined requests for interviews.
