Apartment Fire Reported In Jamaica Plain

Breaking: Boston Fire and Rescue teams knocked down a fire on Perkins Street Saturday.

BOSTON, MA — A fire in a building on Perkins Street in Jamaica Plain was limited to one apartment Saturday after being quickly knocked down by Boston Fire and Rescue teams, according to reports online. Firefighters were sent to 111 Perkins St. in JP around 4 p.m. for a fire on the sixth floor of a 30-story high rise. The fire quickly went to two-alarms.

The fire was extinguished and limited to one apartment, displacing one resident, according to officials.

Damage is estimated to be in the $50,000 range. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
