New Hampshire man found dead in Haverhill after going missing days ago; No foul play suspected

An 89-year-old New Hampshire man who went missing earlier this week was found dead outdoors in Haverhill on Friday, authorities said.

Gerard Lemay, a Weare, New Hampshire resident, was found shortly after his car was discovered in the lot of the Covanta incineration plant on Recovery Way, Massachusetts State Police said in a statement. The man’s body was located close to his vehicle. No foul play is suspected.

“Unless new evidence is developed indicating otherwise, the death is not considered suspicious,” the statement said. “We thank members of the public and media who shared Mr. Lemay’s photo and information while police in Massachusetts and New Hampshire were searching for him.”

Authorities issued a Silver Alert for Lemay on Thursday after he went missing around 5 a.m. on Tuesday. He was possibly seen Wednesday afternoon on Route 25 in Plymouth and then again later that day in Methuen, the New Hampshire Information and Analysis Center said in a statement.
