Clinton native is named legislative aide to Rep. Meghan Kilcoyne

CLINTON - State Rep. Meghan Kilcoyne has appointed lifelong Clinton native Joshua “Dewey” Duhamel as her legislative aide. 

“I’m excited to bring on Joshua 'Dewey' Duhamel to my team as legislative aide. Dewey was born and raised in Clinton, graduating from Clinton High School and working at many different businesses in the 12th Worcester district," Kilcoyne said. "Dewey has spent the last year working as director of constituent services under my predecessor, Harold Naughton. In that time, I have seen him give back to the people of our community through his hard work, determination, and personable attitude. He is well equipped for the job.” 

 As legislative aide, Duhamel will assist Kilcoyne with tracking legislation, pinpointing budget requests and priorities, assisting constituents throughout the community, attending local events and scheduling the legislative cycle.  

“Meghan was fundamental in showing me the ropes," Duhamel said. "She was able to explain complex bills and the nuances of working in the legislature. I’m incredibly grateful to work for Rep. Kilcoyne and continue to learn from her while also continuing to give back and help the people of the 12th Worcester district, my home.” 

Before working for Naughton, Duhamel was a field director for the Pete Buttigieg presidential campaign in New Hampshire, and work on other campaigns such as Senator Elizabeth Warren’s re-election campaign and State Senator Barbara L’Italien’s bid for the Third Congressional District. 

He also spent time working for businesses such as the Spruce Street Tavern, in Clinton, and the Black Sheep Tavern, in Sterling, throughout high school and college.Duhamel was also active in town, teaching CCD at St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish and was elected secretary of the Clinton Democratic Town Committee.
