Gary William Wenkel

Gary William Wenkel, 69, of Owensville, Mo., passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Frene Valley - A Stone Bridge Community in Owensville. Gary was born October 12, 1951 to Stanley and Zeldean (Brandhorst) Wenkel in Washington, Mo. He was united in marriage to Marian Lutz on March 23, 1974 in Tipton, Mo. He worked as a Safety and Human Resources Supervisor for Laclede Christy/Emhart Glass in Clay Refactoring. Gary loved going to his grandchildren's activities, and enjoyed old cars and was a member of the GTA Car Club. He was a member of Gasconade County School Board for eight years and served on the Owensville City Council. Gary was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Owensville and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. His survivors include his wife, Marian of Owensville; children, Tesa Harrison of Jefferson City, Tammy Alfultis and husband Bryan of Jefferson City, and Timothy Wenkel of Rogersville, Mo., and six grandchildren, Landon, Emily, and Kenadi Harrison and Maddox, Isla and Tate Alfultis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Zeldean Wenkel. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Immaculate Catholic Church in Owensville with Celebrants Father Wayne Boyer and Father James Finder. Burial was at the ICC Cemetery in Owensville. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Gottenstroeter Funeral Home of Owensville.
